In response to increasing demand we installed an internet facility in the Poolside bar today. We already have a booth in the Club Olympus reception but many owners and guests wanted something a tad handier so voila!
Here are the engineers fitting the state-of-the-art facility. It has ‘Skype’ capability and a web-cam so we should be able to cover most needs.
Whilst we we had the camera in the Poolside bar, we grabbed a quick shot of longtime owners Norman and Eileen Howells who had just dropped in for a ’swifty’.
Here are Norman and Eileen with well known Garden City personality ’Pepe’. They have been timeshare owners with us for 19 years and originate from the Wirral on Merseyside. It’s great to have them with us.
And whilst we still had the camera, we turned the lens onto Developer Hedley (right) and Mein Host of the Poolside Bar Marco (now featuring hair!) as seen below.

A number of owners have contacted us recently after they have received telephone calls by persons offering to buy their timeshare weeks or present them for re-sale at great sounding prices.
Please do not be fooled. The Organisation for Timeshare in Europe (The OTE) has given many warnings about dubious and unscrupulous organisations who try to obtain money from timeshare owners by presenting themselves as resale companies. Some of our owners have parted with money upfront and heard very little since.

Darren Clarke and Harry Bradley won the first round of the Tenerife Open Moto-Cross Championship in their categories this week. Both are staying with their parents and families at Club Olympus in Garden City.
Darren (left) and Harry (right) show off their trophy in the Olympus Poolside Bar above. The championship is held at Motocross 365, San Miguel, Tenerife.
Both are ranked in the top ten of their respective Championships in the UK (85cc, age 11-15). Harry recorded 3rd, 9th place at the world famous Weston-Super-Mare beach race in recent years.

Moto-cross motorcycle racing is taken very seriously in Tenerife and has a big following. The 365 organisation have a fabulous track and facilities at San Miguel which is about a 15 minute drive from Las Americas. Moto-cross and Enduro bikes can be hired and instruction is available if you are an absolute novice or an experienced rider.

Darren’s family have owned timeshare with Club Olympus for nearly 20 years and they, along with the Bradley family, are having a blast down here in Tenerife.
Pictured below is young Ryan Cox age 13 on holiday with his family at Club Olympus. Ryan is currently on the books of Bradford City Football Club.
As many of you will know, Club Olympus are sponsors at Bradford City and also have a pitch-side presence at Valley Parade. Shown below is Hedley Rhodes, Chairman of Club Olympus with Bradford City Chairman Julian Rhodes (no relation)
Ryan Cox is currently at Bradford’s football Academy. He initially started at 5 years old with Manchester United, then had a short spell with Leeds and is now at Bradford. He has just returned from the Fort Lowell Shoot-out, a youth soccer competion in Arizona, USA which the Bradford youth side won! Right winger Ryan would eventually love to play for Spanish side Barcelona he says.

The Cox family are from Keighley in West Yorkshire and have been timeshare owners at Club Olympus for 20 years. It’s a pleasure to have them with us.

We are informed that the weather in the UK is pretty good at the moment but we all know that it isn’t going to last don’t we!
These are shots of Club Olympus in Garden City taken last night at 5.30pm on Monday night (11th Feb).
So far we have had a brilliant winter as usual here in Tenerife so if you do get fed up with the weather get down to Club Olympus as fast as possible! Do also bear in mind that most weather readings and forecasts that you see in the British press and media are taken from the Tenerife north airport, not from the south of the island and do not always reflect the fabulous weather that we enjoy in the Playa De Las Americas - Los Cristianos area!

Continuing our brief team member profiles, can we introduce Hugo.
Another of our valued Reception Team is Hugo Delgado Sanchez. 30 years old Hugo (pronounced Ugo in Spanish) is from the famous northern Spanish City of Santiago De Compostela in Galicia. He has lived in Tenerife for about 5 years and has been with Club Olympus for 1 year. He lived and studied in London for more than a year to perfect his English and really enjoyed his time in the UK.
Pictured above with Assistant Resort Manager Lupe Ortega, Hugo is a very chilled out guy. He just loves crashing on the beach with a good book. His friendly approach and easy going manner make him a hit with our owners and guests.
He looks forward to welcoming you to Club Olympus on your next visit and says “Hasta pronto” or “see you soon”.

Over the next few weeks we will do brief profiles on our staff here at Club Olympus. To begin with, can we introduce you to one of our Reception Team Members, Jose (pronounced Hosay).
Jose, who’s full name is Jose Carlos Brito Reyes, is originally from Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife. He is 32 years old and has been one of our valued reception team for nearly four years. He speaks Spanish of course but is also very fluent in English and also speaks moderate German.
Jose is a great lover of the outdoors, he is into hiking, sports in general, music and dancing (he is a real mover apparently!!)
Pictured above is the Club Olympus Reception which is soon to undergo a major refurbishment. The Reception is open for 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We can assist with any excursion that is available in Tenerife and provide a money exchange service. We have a courtesy lounge next to reception with showers and changing rooms. Reception provides internet access and instant assistance in the case of an emergency. There is an ATM (Cash) machine in Reception (which you can’t miss because it’s as big as a house!). We always have English speaking staff available. Our team members also speak French, Italian, German and we have Russian, Dutch and Chinese (Mandarin) speakers also on hand. Our reception team are here to help and look forward to welcoming you to Club Olympus.
